Stadtmuseum Kassel
For the renovation and extension of an existing museum building in Kassel we chose to add a volume on the roof and reorganize the internal routing of the exhibition spaces.
Two routes for visitors of the museum and guests for the rooftop terrace are combined into one new staircase that defines the spatial organisation of the new museum.
This attractive new element on the inside is complemented by the skin of the new rooftop extension that gives the museum a new presence in the public streetspace.
